A Challenge to Change Our Thinking About War & Conflict

Conflict is inevitable, but war is not. Do you agree?
A study series called “A Challenge to Change Our Thinking About War” is scheduled at 7:00 pm for five Mondays: June 20, 27; July 11, 18, and 25 at the Medford Library in the Carpenter Room.
Presented by the Rogue Valley Chapter of Beyond War, the series is an opportunity for lively, thoughtful engagement with the ideas presented in the book Living Beyond War, A Citizen’s Guide by Winslow Myers. Beyond War is an international, non-profit organization committed to ending the use of war within a generation.
The first session on June 20 will introduce Beyond War principles and provide an opportunity to receive a copy of the book. Then, through the interplay of ideas, videos and group exercises the series will explore questions such as: “What are the opportunities inherent in conflict? Why is it important to resolve conflict? What works---what are practical alternatives to violence? How do we deal with others who strongly disagree with us? How can our actions be congruent with our innermost values? What actions do we need to take right now to move the world beyond war?”
