Board Members
ROBERT DODGE, M.D.
Bob is a family practice physician in Ventura, California. Active in the peace movement since his college days at the University of Colorado, Boulder, Bob was on a Beyond War team in the 80s. Since 1985, he has been the president of Ventura County Physicians for Social Responsibility and is the cofounder and Co-Chair of Citizens for Peaceful Resolutions (CPR). CPR, a grass roots coalition, was founded in 2002 in response to the U.S. Nuclear Posture Review doctrine. A firm believer that the individual can make a difference -- Bob is the father of three sons and is married to Joan Dodge, a school counselor. 
ELAINE HALLMARK, J.D.
Elaine is the Director of the Oregon Consensus Program at the Hatfield School of Government at Portland State University in Portland, Oregon (2003-present). She has been the principal and senior mediator of Confluence Northwest and Hallmark Pacific Group since 1988. Past Chair of the Oregon Dispute Resolution Commission, Elaine has received numerous awards including the Oregon State Bar Association Sidney Lezak Award of Merit for Outstanding Achievement in Appropriate Dispute Resolution, Lewis and Clark Law School Outstanding Environmental Alumni Award and the Spirit of Portland Award for her volunteer efforts with the Portland Neighborhood Mediation Center. Elaine and her husband Bill were founders of Beyond War in Palo Alto, California in 1982 and were both very active in the 80s and 90’s in Portland, Oregon.
KEN TRUEBA
Ken Trueba has a distinguished career as an electronics development engineer and is listed as the inventor of more than 40 US patents. He has also owned and operated an alternative transportation business called EcoCycle, which designed human-powered tricycles enabling many handicapped riders to ride effortlessly. Ken has served as president of Crossroads International, an organization that hosts foreign students as they arrive at Oregon State University, welcomes them to the community and provides them with assistance wherever needed. He has been actively involved in the Sister Cities Association which has built relations between Corvallis, Oregon and Uzhgorod, Ukraine, including serving as President of the organization in 1991-1992. The association has sent medical supplies to Uzhgorod and has sponsored many student and professional exchanges, in addition to adopting the care and upkeep of a local orphanage. He has traveled to Uzhgorod to install a modem for the establishment of e-mail between the sister cities and to help set up a Zonta Club there. He and his wife Carol were very active in Beyond War in the 80s and serve on a Beyond War team in their hometown, Corvallis, Oregon.
KATHY WHITE
Kathy White is a retired educator, school counselor, teacher trainer and implementer of safe schools programs developed by the University of Oregon's Institute on Violence and Destructive Behavior. The Institute measured behavior changes in children in conflict situations. These results convinced Kathy that education in conflict resolution can have profound effects on the community and the world---as it did with the students and school systems she served. Kathy lives in Eugene, Oregon with her husband Doug White, has two married children and a delightful young grandson named Michael. Her interests include hiking, reading, gardening, travel and playing with Michael.
CHARLEY ROGERS
Charley Rogers retired from IBM after a very rewarding 27 year career. He then worked for 8 years as a consultant in six sigma quality training and facilitation. Charley became involved in Beyond War in the early 80’s in Charlotte, NC, and then in Lexington, KY. He and his wife, Kim moved from New York to Hendersonville, NC in 1995. Charley volunteers with several peace-related non-profit organizations such as The Dispute Settlement Center, United Religions Initiative, and The Healing Place, where he visits schools and teaches children about prevention of sexual abuse. Charley and Kim have 5 adult children and 10 grandchildren.
WINSLOW MYERS
After 40 years of teaching History of Art and Studio Art in various schools and colleges, including Bancroft School, the Rhode Island School of Design, Clark University, and Assumption College, Winslow Myers lives in the Boston area and continues to paint. He exhibits his paintings through Gallery 170 in Newcastle, ME and on his art website, www.winslowmyers.com. His partner, Jean Innamorati, is Preservation Planner for the town of Brookline, MA. From 1985 to 1995, Winslow coordinated Beyond War in Central Massachusetts and led numerous seminars and courses introducing people to the challenge of change. His book on the philosophy of Beyond War, "Living Beyond War: A Citizen's Guide," is being published by Orbis Books in April 2009.
MARTIN JONES, M.D.
Martin Jones has practiced Internal Medicine in Eugene, Oregon for the last 30 years. He has worked with local and state medical societies, as well as other community coalitions, to promote community health and safety, social justice and peace. Martin has been involved in the design of peace seminars and lengthy mediation projects to help resolve community conflicts. These experiences have convinced him of the power of a small group of committed citizens to effect social change. In 1997, Martin was chosen Oregon Physician Citizen of the Year. He enjoys piano playing and music of all kinds, hiking, and spending time with his family and friends.
