David Galiel - Executive Director

As a child, David was inspired by R. Buckminster Fuller's vision of one people on one island in one ocean on "Spaceship Earth". His family moved from the United States to Israel when he was a young boy, and he lived there for thirteen years. Growing up in Jerusalem, David experienced first-hand the shared humanity and heritage of Israelis and Palestinians, and their strong foundation for coexistence. He also experienced the utter insanity of war - as a civilian, and later, as a soldier. Those experiences forged his determination to seek a world beyond war.

David has been at the forefront of the online revolution for more than two decades as a successful entrepreneur and consultant. Since 2001, he has focused his efforts on helping service and advocacy organizations to adopt new media tools and technology for communication, collaboration and community  building. David has founded and directed a number of nonprofit arts, technology and social change organizations, served on the boards of several more, and helped to form the first creative economy organization in the United States. He is also an accomplished musician.

In 2009, David worked with the board of directors of Beyond War to develop a longe range strategic plan for international growth and sustainability, with an emphasis on new media and develoment of a decentralized, grass-roots organization. As our new Executive Director, David will be in a position to implement this plan.
